Alleluia! What an Easter at Blessed Sacrament! Easter was the culmination of a lovely Holy Week. All the liturgies were beautiful and participation from the parish was very heartening. Thank you to all who supported the parish over those blessed days. We shined!
Although we were all saddened to hear of the death of Pope Francis, the Lord’s timing was remarkable. The pope’s death on Easter Monday was surely a sign that death gives way to the Resurrection life for this faithful servant. For all of us who have faith in Christ and continue to participate in his Paschal Mystery, we too will share in the bright promise of eternal life!
Now that the Octave of Easter is winding down, we will soon schedule a Mass for the Dead for Pope Francis, as well as a Mass for the election of a new pope. Let us continue to pray in these days for eternal peace for Francis, and a heaping outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the College of Cardinals as they choose a new pope to lead us.
May is always an exciting month at Blessed Sacrament with baptisms and First Communions, weddings, near-end of school activities and, of course, Mother’s Day. I pray that you and your family will receive the blessings of the season and continue to bask in the light of the Easter season.
