All are welcome to join our community and celebrate Mass in the school gym from after Labor Day until early June. A large group of volunteers organizes our activities to make this Mass special for all ages. The best way to meet people is to volunteer, so we urge you to get involved!
ACTIVITIES DURING MASS:
Host Family: Each week a volunteer family acts as greeters, gift bearers and helps with the offertory collection. Arrive 10 minutes before mass to organize and be ready.
Children's liturgy: Volunteers are needed to help as children retire to the auditorium for an age-appropriate liturgy. They return to the gym after the creed for the rest of the mass. Students who volunteer receive community service hours.
Music ministry: The Gym Choir meets at 9:30. No experience is needed to participate, just a willingness to sing! The music is a mix of contemporary, traditional and gospel music.
Weekly food collection: Families are encouraged to bring canned/boxed food for children to bring forward during the offertory collection. After mass the food is brought to a collection space in the parish center which is then distributed to local charities and soup kitchens.
Christmas Giving Tree: Families are urged to buy age-appropriate gifts for the needy which are distributed before Christmas.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Coffee and Donuts Sunday: Every Sunday, we gather after mass for coffee and donuts after mass. Help is needed to set up and clean up. This is a great way to meet people in the community.
