Catholics address the very real threat of climate change in the light of our faith. We believe everything we are and have is from God. We believe we must love our neighbor, and protecting the earth we all share is a vital part of doing so. Jesus said, "Whatever you did for one of the least, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40) Pope Francis asks us to consider the increased vulnerability of the poor of the earth to the effects of climate change.
Season of Creation 2024: “To Hope and Act with Creation” Sunday, September 1 is the annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, which marks the beginning of the Season of Creation, September 1 - October 4. With a new logo and slogan we are encouraged to renew our efforts to Cherish God’s creation. Make responsible choices in consuming the earth’s resources. Urge lawmakers to enact policies which protect our planet now and for future generations. To hope and act with creation means “our lives can become a song of love for God, for humanity, with and for creation, and find their fullness in holiness.”Blessed Sacrament is pleased to present our parish Laudato Si’ Action Plan. This plan was created in response to the call from Pope Francis in his encyclical, Laudato Si’, to care for our common home. This plan includes contributions from many parish groups who are faithfully carrying out projects and activities that meet Laudato Si’ goals.
