Men's Retreat

The 2012 Blessed Sacrament Men's Retreat was March 2-4, 2012 at Loyola Retreat House in Faulkner, MD. The retreat was conducted in an atmosphere of silence and this year's theme was“IN THE SPIRIT THERE IS ALWAYS A NEW BEGINNING."

Recognizing that the sacraments are the most privileged point of contact between us and the living Lord, the Eucharist was celebrated each day and Reconciliation was available before dinner on Friday and on Saturday afternoon.  Personal prayer and reflection are absolutely essential to growing in a personal relationship with God.  Loyola's directors encouraged and instructed retreatants in ways to grow from knowing the Lord himself.  In prayer, the retreatant found himself growing from awareness of Jesus to the experience of Jesus Christ and His personal love, ultimately discovering a desire to walk through life in companionship with the Lord.

This 54-year parish tradition is always open to all men aged ten and up.  It's a great opportunity for fathers to spend quality time with their sons.

Please note in the 2011 picture below, even though Fr. John had joined us at the retreat from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning, he was called back to the parish just before our group picture was taken. You can also find Fr. John in all but one of the other photos, as our pastors have always joined us whenever their very busy weekend schedule allowed.
