Landings Program - Resources for Inactive and Returning Catholics:

Rediscover Your Faith This Lenten Season -- Last Spring Blessed Sacrament began a new ministry called LANDINGS, a program for inactive Catholics wanting to explore a more active return to their Catholic faith. I am pleased to report that both sessions have been quite successful, not just for the eight additional Catholics that we welcomed back to our church, but also for the active parishioners who participated as well. LANDINGS is a laity-run, Paulist program. During this small, eight-week compassionate listening series, the group prayed together, shared their faith journeys and discussed their Catholic beliefs, all guided by the Holy Spirit.
A new 8-week LANDINGS series will begin meeting Thursday, February 25. The main reason given by returning Catholics attending our LANDINGS sessions was that someone asked them! I urge you to think of someone you know who “used to be Catholic” or who attends Mass only occasionally or is looking for spiritual growth. Many nonpracticing Catholics have simply lost their connection with Catholicism or are reluctant to make the first move to return. LANDINGS can smooth and inspire this return. God just asks us to invite, to be open to the urging of the Holy Spirit; he will do the rest!
What greater act of love this Lenten than to reawaken your own faith, to invite someone to come to Mass with you, or attend a LANDINGS session. The full participation of every Catholic is a precious gift to our faith community, help fill our pews. There is no pressure, just an invitation to explore the possibilities.
