Harvest Bazaar
The Harvest Bazaar, sponsored by the Sanctuary Sodality, takes place each November in the Duffy Parish Center and the school auditorium and gym. Elements of the Bazaar include a used clothing sale and white elephant sale, along with a selection of vendors offering a variety of items such as Christmas decorations, knick-knacks, and jewelry to name a few. There is typically a social function (in 2007 this was Breakfast With Santa) along with a luncheon and bake sale. There are games for kids, such as a moon bounce, and basket raffle.
Funds raised from the Bazaar go for the support of the sanctuary and other areas related to the celebration of the liturgy as well as for the support of the various ministries assisted by individual sodality units. Recent examples include the renovation of the sacristy, new chairs in the sanctuary, and the purchase of new vestments.
In addition to providing financial assistance to the parish and the community-at-large, the Harvest Bazaar aims to build a sense of community within the parish. The 2008 Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2008
